The history of Fraunhofer Venture
Fraunhofer Venture
History
To account for the growing foundation spirit in the Fraunhofer institutes, the Fraunhofer Venture was established in 1999 with the objective of sustainably supporting scientists on their way to founding their own technology companies.
In 2002, Fraunhofer Venture was honored for its services with the foundation award of the German federal ministry for education and research, presented by the Karl Heinz Beckurts foundation.
Since its establishment, more than 400 foundation concepts have been developed, approximately 150 spin-off foundations supported and roughly 90 participations set up.
