The Company

GRINTECH 
GRINTECH GmbH, a microoptics company based in Jena, Germany, develops and manufactures gradient index lenses and lens systems for applications in biomedical engineering and endoscopy, sensor systems, diode laser beam shaping and telecommunication.

GRIN lenses are miniaturized lenses with extraordinary optical performance and flat optical surfaces. The optical power is achieved by a refractive index (GRadient INdex) profile. With the unique manufacturing technology - a silver ion exchange in glass - rod and cylindrical lenses may be produced.

GRINTECH disposes of long-time experience with this flexible technology and offers a dependable customer service.

GRINTECH was founded in December 1999 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering in Jena.
