The Company

JenaValve Technology is a medical device company specializing in the development of transcatheter valve implantation systems for treating patients with aortic valve diseases. The company develops aortic valve replacement systems for the transapical and the transfemoral (TAVI) access to the heart, in particular for the requirements of heart surgeons and cardiologists.
In a first phase, JenaValve intends to reach high-risk patients who cannot undergo open-heart surgery. In contrast to other systems, it is also the ideal product for patients with heart insufficiencies. As soon as the system will have established itself as the preferred TAVI system, its advantages will also become accessible for all other heart patients.
JenaValve Technology Inc. European headquarters is located in Munich; JenaValve Technology, Inc., the US holding company, is based in Delaware.
Solution
The JenaValve TAVI system offers three fundamental, patented design characteristics:
- Unique feeler-guided positioning
- JenaClip™ anchoring mechanism
- Low-profile JenaValve prosthesis
- JenaClip™ anchoring mechanism
- Low-profile JenaValve prosthesis
These three elements differ from other TAVI systems and constitute the basis for safe, precise, and simplified TAVI implantation.
The systems use the unique JenaValveTM aortic valve stent. In particular the unique feeler-guided positioning enables precise positioning and repositioning as well as removal throughout the entire implantation. Accurate positioning reduces the risk of complications such as coronary blockade, paravalvular leakage or heart block. They ensure a high level of safety for the patient during surgery. The JenaValve Transapical System is currently subject to clinical testing in Germany.
JenaValve and JenaClip are trademarks of JenaValve Technology GmbH. JenaValve products are protected by pending and granted patents as well as by design and utility model rights.
