LEDON OLED Module Technology
LEDON OLED Lighting products combine the latest OLED technology with innovative electrical and mechanical integration concepts. Based on LEDON OLED Lighting's extensive experience, the products enable the realization of the most innovative luminaire concepts.
The OLED modules offer extraordinary optical characteristics in combination with a robust contacting system and a slim design for the implementation in innovative luminaires.
The OLED products combine a high proportion of illuminated surface area with a slim design and excellent optical parameters for achieving the best results in large-area applications.
A patented holder system enables the integration of an electrical as well as of a data bus system. The data bus system may be configured to support the DALI or DMX standard and enables a simple and robust connection between the different modules.
The lines may be supplied in different designs ensuring maximum freedom for luminaire design.
OLED Technology
Organic light emitting diodes consist of organic layers (thickness typically around 200 to 400 nm) inserted between an anode and a cathode. Usually, glass is used as the substrate that is coated with indium tin oxide (ITO), a transparent, conductive oxide. This is followed by the organic layers consisting of hole-transport material, emitting material and electron-transport material; then, in most cases a metallic cathode follows.
The use of large-area OLEDs with high efficiency is the best technology for realizing plane lighting solutions. The technology offers very natural, diffuse light across a wide color spectrum.
Additionally, the OLED technology enables entirely new solutions with transparent and flexible lighting systems.
